Safety Director – North Region

We are looking for an experienced Safety Director to lead our North region safety efforts from our Carrollton, Tx location. The ideal candidate is bilingual and has 5+ years in the construction industry in a progressive leadership safety role.

This individual will be responsible for developing, leading, and maintaining a culture of safety. They will have excellent attention to detail, great communication skills, and will align with the CHERRY Core Values.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all regional safety needs
  • Able to develop and implement a strategic safety plan
  • Inspect and evaluate health and safety plans on worksites according to legal guidelines
  • Encourage & educate on policies to advance a culture of health and safety
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect work sites, equipment, and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions and report for documentation 
  • First point of contact: direct investigations of accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Work with Project Managers & Field leadership to develop solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
  • Ensure compliance in safety training certifications including OSHA 10 & 30 across the region
  • Utilizing LMS
  • Implement proper disciplining actions with managers for employees who fail to comply with minimum safety standards
 
 Requirements:
  • Valid training qualification in occupational health and safety; OSHA 500 and 510
  • 5+ of proven experience in Construction Safety
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies
  • Proficient in data analysis and risk assessment
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
Job Type: Full-time/Salary paid weekly
