In order to better accommodate award-winning theater and performing arts programs, Parish Episcopal School engaged BOKA Powell to envision a new building in keeping with the campus’ existing style, crafted by renowned architect I.M. Pei, that houses performance and rehearsal space, as well as a grand lobby that allows for additional pre-function and gathering space. The Noble Family Performing Arts Center will host student performances, community and milestone events, awards ceremonies and high-caliber speakers and cultural events.
The new state-of-the-art facility is a 55,000-square-foot expansion of the campus that will consist of a 515-seat performance hall and a 120-seat black box theater, rehearsal rooms, a film screening room and a dedicated dance studio. It will also house associated back-of house spaces including a scenic shop, dressing rooms and tailoring shop. Other features include a gallery to display student and works by visiting artists, concessions area, storage, offices, a dedicated storm shelter and a relocated loading dock.
